Project Manager: Standards and Advocacy

The Project Manager, Standards and Advocacy (PM) will oversee the operational aspects and scope of specific programs / projects or ongoing initiatives that relate to APPA’s Standards and Advocacy work. The PM will support the association by leading these projects and developing targeted programs, per the association’s strategic direction, as well as creating and managing long term goals. This role involves full project management including developing strategy, relationships, budgets and operating plans for programs.
More specifically, the Project Manager, Standards and Advocacy (PM) will provide strategic and organizational leadership over the advocacy, civic engagement, and policy strategy of the association. The PM will lead and coordinate all workflow relating to Standards, managing related working groups, as well as serving as the primary contact for all administrative needs of the working groups’ co-chairs. The PM will act as the primary liaison and provide leadership for internal and external stakeholders. while keeping track of all legislation related to the use of psychedelics which database will be used by the association and its members.

Indirect Reports: Working Groups, related consulting groups
Salary: $85,000 - $95,000/year plus benefits, dependent on candidate experience
Provide full project management for the successful development and definition of the standards of care.
Provide full project management for the successful development and definition of the standards of training.
Coordinate with Community and Education PM towards the design, development, and dissemination of the “education” program as they relate to standards.
Manage the successful integration of the above deliverables into the American medical healthcare system.
Manage the details to successfully deliver Standards of Care, Standards of Training, strategic “education” program and then integrate into the American healthcare system.
Help manage the relationship with BrainFutures, be in lock step to ensure entirety of project is coordinated from BF and APPA sides.
Focus on building internal capacity and skills with BrainFutures tutelage, and transferring skills and relationships within healthcare system within the first 18-24 months.
Be the APPA expert in standards development process.
Provide leadership and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Support and manage the related working groups to ensure that timelines are maintained and deliverables are prepared with excellence.
Strategically prepare agendas for all meetings, research as necessary and provide any needed tools for success.
Assume responsibility for the Working Groups experience and ability to deliver with intelligence. Stay three steps ahead.
Learn with and / or share this information with the Standards Oversight Committee.
Lead contact for co-chairs of working groups for administrative needs and project status check ins.
Support Co-EDs with stakeholder engagement.
Keep up to date database with legislation, state and federal, for medicalization, decriminalization, and regulated legal use of psychedelics
Document and summarize / report on work of relevant policymaking bodies at the city and state levels.
Research, develop, and analyze policy proposals and clearly communicate findings.
Plan, coordinate, and participate in routinely scheduled townhalls to keep stakeholders engaged and informed of the process of standards development
Oversee the education of, distribution to, and feedback from stakeholders, members, and the public during the public commentary phase of standards development
Strong organizational skills, ability to track multiple parallel workflows seamlessly
Strong communication and facilitation skills, ability to hold teams to timelines while assessing for and addressing barriers to flow. Seen as a competent and safe person to come to for problem solving and coordination needs.
